Craig, your bare-bones kit should include a small Rumble Roller, 3″ or 4″ block, balls (which you have), and a black compression strap. You can combine all that into your own “toolbox” here. Obviously the more tools you have the more options for self-care, but that will cover your and your wife’s bodies from head to toe. Good luck, thank you for your service, and let us know if we can help you get more out of your efforts.

i’m looking for a good starter kit without breaking the bank for myself and my wife. right now i am doing a strength program but will be switching to one of the strength biased crossfit programs in a few months and my wife is just getting started with working out in general so it’s a really good time for her to learn about smr. i have lacross balls, but thats it so far. what are your recommendations?
David,
First off, thank you for your patience. It’s been nuts around here these last two weeks. Good, but nuts!
Anyway, now on to your questions regarding using the Rumble Roller for your feet. YES, they work great on the feet. The best way to use them is to stand on the 30” Rumble Roller while you hold onto a pull up bar or vertical support. Gently shift your weight left and right to either foot. Don’t try to “roll” on the roller, just stand and try to relax your feet. You should notice that the muscles of your feet mold around the bumps and the curvature of the roller better and better over time. (today, tomorrow, next week, next month, etc.) Try standing with one foot length-wise on the roller and the other sideways then switch your feet. A fantastic product for the feet is the green marble stone. You can heat (or chill) the green marble in hot water (or the icebox/freezer) to increase circulation (decrease inflammation) while you slowly roll your foot over the stone. It is an absolutely effective complement to the Rumble Roller.
Keep in mind that you have 13 muscles in your lower leg and 11 of them attach in your foot with 3 big ones that run from the back of your calf into the bottom of your foot into either your arch or the toes. You have 8 muscles in the bottom of the foot, and they will get locked up extra fast is the calf muscles are too tight. Vice Versa if the foot muscles are too tight, the calf muscles will lock up extra quickly. So work above and below the ankle to achieve lasting relief in your feet. Check out the secondary and extended regions for the lower leg and foot and pick 2 or 3 exercises to do today. Then do 2 or 3 different exercises from the secondary and extended regions for the lower leg and foot. Keep rotating through the different exercises until you find your 4-6 “special exercises” that provide you with the greatest level of relief and alternate through them every couple days until your issue is resolved. If you aren’t seeing noticeable improvements each week, hire a bodyworks specialist (A.R.T., Graston Technique, or other deep tissue therapist) to get their assistance to get you past your “sticking point.”
If you are on FaceBook, then “like” our SMR page. Myself and Dr. Dustin Glass provide direct advice for dealing with issues exactly like what you are going through. It is a free service that we provide to help you get the most out of your SMR efforts.
Please keep me abreast of your progress. If I can help, I am only a message away.
In Your Service,
~Jeff
I need some advice in picking equipment, I’d like to buy a rumble roller and I wanted to know if it could be used for the feet. And on that note, is there a particular product you recommend for feet? I’ve been having feet issues that keep manifesting differently. First it was a clear ball of foot problem, now I’m begin to develop some plantar fasciitis
(And is there a particular series of stretches I should be using to address these issues?)
Liza, we appreciate your interest in our program. Please bear with us for a few days, as we are gearing up for a big weekend out of town. We will get more info to you regarding our SMR instructor classes after the weekend. Talk with you soon!
I would be interested in being trained to be a SMR facilitator.
Do you know of any certifications on this method or do you teach others how to facilitate instructional workshops?
thank you for your time and consideration.

Gary, please contact Jeff directly at fitcajun@networkfitness.com to discuss the details. We do offer a discount for active duty fire/law enforcement/military. We want to help those that protect and serve us and make our service as affordable as possible for them. We did a course last year for the Jacksonville police department, and I’m sure we can work something out for your guys. We look forward to making this happen!
Please send info on what I need for a mini workshop in Fort Lauderdale Fl at my CrossFit gym. I train several SWAT, Fire and ER personnel and real believe this is a plus.

Kyle, I’d love to come up to do a mini-clinic. Your best price on the 12 kits would be in conjunction with the class, but I can ship the gear if you need it sooner than you need the class. I will send you a direct email with details for the shipment and the class.
I look forward to working together!

Jeff,
I run the Wellness and Fitness Program for Fremont (Ca.) Fire and would like to purchase 12 sets of the ‘Ultimate Package’ from TPT. I attended a workshop of yours at OneWorld in January and am looking at spreading the knowledge here in the fire world. What would such an order run us? Also what would be the costs if we set up a mini-workshop here in Fremont?
Thanks!
Kyle Adams
